Good Tuesday to you. Let's start this week's Blog with some exciting news...
On Monday, August 13th at 5:30 p.m., Eclectic Elegance will be spotlighted on Detroit's Public Television. That's right, check your local PBS station and tune in! PBS came to the Purple Building last week and "shot" footage of our store. We will be part of a show that spotlights Farmington. Could this be our 15 minutes of fame?
Speaking of "fame", it isn't too late to vote for Channel 4's "Vote 4 The Best". Voting only takes a few minutes and we would love to win their best gift shop in Detroit category. Simply log on to www.clickondetroit.com . Look for the "Vote 4 The Best" link on the left side of the page. We are under the "Shopping" category, specifically "gift shop". Thanks to all who already have voted for us. We really appreciate your support.
Well, if you can believe it, we are already taking orders for the holidays! Now is your chance to get a jump on holiday gift giving and SAVE money. Place your holiday order by September 30th, 2007 and you will receive 10% off your total order. This offer applies to personal AND corporate orders so act now. If you or someone you know needs unique holiday gift giving ideas, call Eclectic Elegance at 248-478-7220. We would love to customize any size order.
The ClubHouse is open this summer. We are scrapbooking every Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Come join us and let the creativity flow. Thursday, September 13th we will have a fall container potting class. Liberty Street Gardens, www.libertystreetgardens.com ,will teach us the finer points of successfully planting containers that will make your deck or porch beautiful. For those of you who have always wanted to learn to knit, now is your chance! On Thursday, October 18th we will have a beginning knitting class. Jodi, our teacher, is awesome! Just think of the scarves you could knit for all those presents you need in December! For information on all of our classes, please call us at 248-478-7220. You too could have fun like the young artists, pictured above, did at our recent ceramics class. Dave did a great job teaching the kids the basics of pottery and then the youngsters let loose! Their final pieces of artwork are fabulous and everyone had a wonderful time.
This Friday, August 10th, is the last Farmington Friday Evening Concert. The Pavilion has been filled with concert goers all summer and this is your last chance to see a FREE concert by talented local artists. Eclectic Elegance will be open until 7:30 p.m. on Friday so come visit us! Don't forget, during the month of August we are open on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thanks once again for reading our Blog. Could you please pass it on to a friend (or two?). There is so much "good stuff" going on at the Purple Building we want everyone to know! This week's Blog special: When you come into Eclectic Elegance and mention the Blog, you will receive an additional 5% off our summer items that are already 10% off. What a deal and just because you read our Blog!
Take care and we will see you soon at the Purple Building, Eclectic Elegance.
