ClubHouse Chatter From the Purple Building...All Wrapped Up For You!

With the rainy weather the past few days, it feels like a Tuesday in the fall, not August! But as the summer marches on, so are the happenings at Eclectic Elegance.

We are closely approaching the deadline for voting in Channel 4's "Vote 4 the Best" contest. So many of you have already voted and also taken the time to add a comment. Jeanne gushed, "This delightful little shop is a definite asset to the neighborhood, well worth a visit- just once and you're hooked!". Thomas-Matthew said, "Outstanding selection and customer service. They really value you as a customer and as a person." Please feel free to add your comment when you vote for your favorite gift shop in metro Detroit. Once again voting is easy, fast, and VERY appreciated! You may vote once for each email address you have. Take a minute to vote and don't forget to pass this link onto a friend: www.clickondetroit.com .

School bells will soon be ringing and Eclectic Elegance has what you need to make a student's school year begin with an A+. We have adorable red or black backpacks, a lovely selection of journals, and UglyDoll key chains perfect for hanging on school bags. If you have a teen going to college, we have you covered! How about sending your young adult a gift arrangement? We can customize your "care package" to include food, dorm necessities, and school colors. Everyone likes a little taste of home so let us help you and your student adjust to the new year. As always, shipping is available. Call us for more information.

The ClubHouse is always open and we have some great events coming in the fall. Our fall container class on Thursday, September 13th is filling up so don't delay, sign up today! Liberty Street Gardens will demonstrate the proper way to plant an outdoor pot while supplying the flowers and greens. All you need to do is bring a pot less than 12" in diameter and watch your green thumb flourish! The cost of the class is $45.00. Our knitting class will be held October 18th and the cost is $25.00 which includes ALL supplies. Have you always wanted to learn but never got around to learning the craft? Well, what are you waiting for? We have a great teacher, the supplies, and the fun all in one class. To reserve your space for these and all classes, please call 248-478-7220.

Too many of us are directly affected by breast cancer. On Friday, September 21st, Eclectic Elegance will proudly host a fundraiser for the Michigan Breast Cancer Three Day Walk. Please join us beginning at 6:30 p.m. that evening for a night of fun, food, and friends. There is a $10.00 donation at the door, prizes drawn throughout the night, and in-store specials all evening. This would make a wonderful "Girls Night Out" for your closest friends, sisters, and/or mom. Together, we can all donate to the Three Day Walk by attending this Eclectic Elegance event.

Please take advantage of our early holiday order program. Just by placing your personal or corporate gift basket order by September 30th, you will receive 10% off your total. We love to customize gifts for any occasion and don't forget, we ship and deliver. We can make your holiday gift giving easy!

There are all kinds of reasons to visit Farmington these last few weeks of summer. We would love to see you in downtown Farmington every Saturday at the Farmers Market or at a movie showing at the historic Civic Theater. While in town, don't forget to stop at the Farmington Bakery for delicious homemade bread and cookies. The Purple Building is in the heart of Farmington so make sure your trip into historic Farmington includes a stop into Eclectic Elegance.

This week's blog special: Just mention our blog and receive a free Farmer's Popcorn Cob. The cob of corn comes with a bag that you place in the microwave. After two minutes in the microwave, the corn has popped off the cob and into the bag! It is delicious, fresh popcorn and very fun to make. That is my kind of cooking!

Have a great week and we hope to see you soon,

Dana and Nancy
