ClubHouse Chatter From the Purple Building...All Wrapped Up For You!

Can you believe that picture was taken TWO years ago during our Grand Opening! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Eclectic Elegance! That's right, Eclectic Elegance is turning two this week. We can't thank you enough for the continued support you give us every day.

Please mark your calendars for a very special event happening on Friday, November 30th. Downtown Farmington will be the place to be for the first annual "Glow". Beginning at 6:00 p.m., our city streets will be twinkling with holiday lights and luminaries while carolers serenade you with joyful sounds of the season. Downtown stores and restaurants throughout Farmington will be open until 9:00 p.m. on November 30th with special events and treats. Eclectic Elegance will be hosting a book signing for local author Scott Seegert. His book "It's a Guy Thing" is a laugh out loud read and a perfect gift for any man in your life. Tim Spellman will be drawing caricatures during Glow in our Purple Building. His drawing of you and yours would be a one of a kind present for family and friends on your list. Our friends across the street at the Sunflour Bakehouse, home of the historic Farmington Bakery, will be introducing their new look and new baked goods. (We have tried most of the new treats and highly recommend them all- YUM!). During "Glow", M. Mazonni Jeweler will be having 20% off select merchandise and Scrappin' and Stampin' will help your child create a gift box perfect for the holidays. Come on down to Farmington before "Glow" begins and take advantage of our local restaurants. Pages will take 20% off your food purchase all day until 6:00 p.m. and Cowley's Irish Pub is offering a two for one dinner deal from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. "Glow" promises to be great holiday fun for everyone so join us in beautiful downtown Farmington on November 30th.

Downtown Farmington will once again be the sight for Holly Day, Saturday, December 1st. The Pavilion will be filled with greens, chestnuts, and guests from the North Pole. Eclectic Elegance will have an open house beginning at 10:00 a.m. with specials throughout the Purple Building.

Be sure to receive your Shopper Reward Card during "Glow" or Holly Day. Just by using your Reward Card you can receive a $20 gift certificate to five of our Farmington restaurants! For more information on "Glow", Holly Day, and the Shoppers Reward Card, visit Farmington's Downtown Development Authority's website www.downtownfarmington.org

We are going to keep you busy this holiday season with several special events and classes. On Thursday, November 8th, Eclectic Elegance will be at the Holiday Shopping Expo being held at the Farmington Hills Costick Center. Over 60 merchants and crafters will have their wares displayed for convenient holiday shopping. The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Look for us this Thursday!

Saturday's beginning watercolor class is almost full. This is your chance to learn the basics of watercolors by local artist Kathleen Spellman. "Autumn Goose", pictured, is one of Kathleen's latest masterpieces. All materials will be supplied and this four hour class begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10th. Call 248-478-7220 for more information.

On Sunday, November 11th, we will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. while we host an Arbonne Open House. If you have ever wanted to sample the incredible Arbonne products, now is your chance. Arbonne is a wonderful company that produces luxurious make-up and lotions. We will have several representatives here to answer your questions, help you choose the right products, and place your order. Both Nancy and I have received Arbonne products as gifts and we rave about the sunscreen! With the holidays around the corner, this is a great opportunity to shop Eclectic Elegance on a Sunday and buy unique gifts for everyone on your list.

Don't worry about decorating for the holidays, Heidi Cook has you covered! On Thursday, November 15th Liberty Street Gardens' Heidi Cook will be here teaching us how to plant outdoor pots just in time for winter! Yes, you read that correctly. Our local master gardener will supply the plants, soil, and expertise while we get our hands dirty creating colorful and festive planted containers much like the one pictured above. Brighten your home or business entry this holiday season! Call 248-478-7220 for more information on this two hour, $45.00, class.

SAGE advice: Birthdays are good for you; the more you have, the longer you live!

Once again, thank you for making the last two years absolutely incredible. Your favorite Purple Building in downtown Farmington is busy this holiday season with a bevy of great events. We would love to see you downtown and at Eclectic Elegance.

Dana and Nancy
