ClubHouse Chatter From the Purple Building...All Wrapped Up For You!

Happy Spring! We hope you are enjoying the warm temperatures, rain, and wind! Hey, it's Michigan, if you don't like the weather, just wait a day!

Eclectic Elegance has been nominated in the "Women's Choice Awards" sponsored by Strut Magazine. Strut is an awesome FREE monthly publication that can be found at Panera Bread Restaurants and other fine establishments. The magazine is geared toward women and offers inspiring essays, lists of Metro Detroit activities, and spotlights on local businesswomen. In fact, Eclectic Elegance has been highlighted several times in Strut. We are so proud to be nominated in the following two categories: "Best Gift Shop" and "Best Girls' Night Out- Hobbies". We would love your vote in both categories. Simply go to www.strutmag.com and cast your vote for Eclectic Elegance under the two categories. It is a very simple process and one you don't have to register for or give out any "personal" information. Beyond (Salon), Gala (Girls Night Out- Nightlife), and Village Shoe Inn (Shoe Store- Independent) are other Farmington businesses nominated. Dana's cousins own England Real Estate which has been nominated in the Real Estate Company category if you would like to support part of the Eclectic Elegance family .You may vote once and the contest ends January 31, 2008. "Winners" will be announced in April. Thank you so much for the support you continue to give the Purple Building. Please pass this information to a friend (or two...). We will keep you posted on the contest.

Is one of your New Year's Resolutions to have more FUN? We have 10 simple steps to more fun...

1. Shop at Eclectic Elegance.

2. Sit down and write an "old-fashioned letter" (not an e-mail, or a hastily jotted note- to someone you've been meaning to get in touch with for ages).

3. Take a different route to work and stop somewhere new for your coffee and pastry (Farmington's Sunflour Bakehaus).

4. Forget lunch at your desk. Go outside and try a new restaurant (Farmington's Pages, Gala, Cowley's, Cedar...).

5. Pretend you are a tourist in your own town and look with fresh eyes at a familiar landmark (Purple Building) or scenic view (Grand River at night!).

6. Go to a special event hosted by and held at Eclectic Elegance.

7. Schedule a meeting at breakfast rather than lunch to break up your day in a new way (Farmington's Luigi's, Big Apple Bagel, Tina's Coney Island, and Marmalade Cafe offer great breakfasts).

8. Ask a friend for a book recommendation and FOLLOW it (Check out a book at the Farmington Library or buy a book at Bargain Books).

9. Try a new hobby (Farmington's Scrappin' and Stampin' offers great classes on scrapbooking and other paper projects).

10. Shop at Eclectic Elegance.

We hope that helps!

Our Valentine's Day AND Easter items are out and ready for you to take home. Easter is early this year - March 23rd! We have great ideas for gifts and gift baskets for these two holidays, or any occasion. Don't forget your sweetheart on February 14th; and if the Easter Bunny needs help, we can create a great basket for your youngster.

Have a super week and stay dry. Forget the Presidential Primaries and VOTE ECLECTIC ELEGANCE. Don't forget to have some fun and we will see you soon in Downtown Farmington's favorite Purple Building, Eclectic Elegance.
